Performance per Watt
A measure of how much mining work a device does for each watt of power it consumes.
Performance per watt expresses efficiency: hashrate divided by power draw. Two pieces of hardware might produce the same Malairte hashrate, but the one doing it on fewer watts is more efficient and cheaper to run over time. Home miners use this metric to compare CPUs and GPUs, and to tune a single rig - undervolting or capping power often improves performance per watt because the highest clock speeds are the least efficient. Chasing raw hashrate alone can lead to a hot, expensive rig; optimising for performance per watt usually gives a cooler, quieter setup with a far better ratio of MLRT earned to electricity spent.
